Issue your ECS Service credential

The credential that says what your service is. The ECS Service schema is open to issuers, so your corporation creates its own issuer accreditation and the agent issues the credential to itself; no validator is involved.

Goal

An active Issuer accreditation on the ECS Service schema for your agent's DID, and the Service credential published in its DID Document.

Prerequisites

  • The Organization or Persona credential of the previous guide, or a parent service that will issue the Service credential instead (child services).
  • Service claims set in the agent's configuration: name, type, description, minimum age, logo, terms and privacy URIs.

Steps

1. Self-create the issuer accreditation

In the frontend, Discover & Join, ECS ecosystem, Service schema, role Issuer. The wizard offers Self-create. Enter the agent's DID, keep the effective window the wizard proposes, and set the agent's account as VS operator with the proposed message types. Sign.

2. The agent issues to itself

When the accreditation becomes active the agent composes the Service claims from its configuration, validates them against the schema, signs the credential, anchors its digest on the registry through a participant session, and publishes it as a linked presentation. Watch the admin log, or the DID Document.

Verify

curl -s https://agent.example.com/.well-known/did.json | jq '.service[] | select(.id|endswith("service-vtc-vp")) | .serviceEndpoint'
curl -s <that endpoint> | jq '.verifiableCredential[0].credentialSubject'

The claims are yours. The indexer now resolves the DID as trusted: run the quickstart check.
