Upgrade VS Agent

Three version numbers move independently: the Verana release (v4), the Admin API version (/v2), and the agent's own version (2.0.0 and following). An agent 2.x implements Verana v4 and Admin API v2; a breaking change to the API would bump its prefix.

Procedure​

  1. Read the release notes of the new version in the vs-agent repository.
  2. Back up (database, volume).
  3. Change the image tag (VS_AGENT_VERSION in Compose, image.tag and chart --version with Helm) and roll. The agent migrates its storage at start when the release requires it.
  4. Readiness 200, info shows the new version and the same DID, resolve returns trusted.

Roll back​

Restore the backup from before the upgrade and roll the previous tag. A storage migration is not always reversible; the release notes say so.
