Pay per issuance and verification

Some schemas charge a fee each time a credential is issued or verified. The fee is the sum of what every party above you in the participant tree charges, plus the issuer's verification fee when you verify a credential it issued, plus the network's shares for your trust deposit and for the wallet involved. You settle it by recording a participant session on the registry; wallets check the session exists and refuse an unpaid exchange.

Who gets paid

curl -s 'https://idx.testnet.verana.network/v4/participant/beneficiaries?verifier_participant_id=<yours>&issuer_participant_id=<the issuer of the credential>' | jq

The response lists the accreditations that receive a share and the amounts in the schema's pricing asset.

What the agent does

Before an offer or a presentation request under a priced schema, the agent records the session for your accreditation, naming the counterparty's accreditation when there is one, and the wallet's user agent accreditations when the peer is a wallet, so the wallet's reward is attributed. The transaction is signed under the agent's VS operator authorization; the fee is paid in the native coin, converted from trust units through the exchange rate when the schema prices in them.

Sessions are also where a self-issued or flow-issued W3C credential anchors its digest, which is why they exist even on free schemas.

In the frontend

The participant detail card shows a schema's fees in its pricing asset and the beneficiaries preview. In this frontend revision, paid actions are enabled only for schemas priced in the native coin.
